We are a team of enthusiastic readers who not only want to read every book published on earth but we wish to bring a reading revolution in India! We want to bring Indian kids to reading habits and Indian schools to passionate reading culture boosting our Indian apprentices' apetitte and passion as much as they are known around the globe for hardwork and academic scope. And we choose school libraries as our ground zero because children already spend significant percentage of a day at formal educational campuses, and we wish to utilize this time and resources itself to save hassle for students as well as parents. 87% of developed country parents credit school & community libraries to inculcate passion and habit of reading in their children. Now, someone had to do this! "
Every child is a reader. But not all children get correct guidance, chance, exposure, expertise to turn themselves into a burgeoning reader. It is a proven study ""reading is a life saving, fundamental skill and have saved generations and humanity in worst of times.
We absolutely believe in the quote - Human civilization can survive in times of no money but with a library (knowledgable resources around) but it cannot survive with only money and no guidance/resources - libraries.
Reading habit can never be over-rated and forms the underlining skill of every successful profession. In the advent of lifestyle change, Zillenials are falling back and entire development of cognitive and non cognitive skills is at stake with reading repetoire diminishing each day. Just like we need schools for holistic development of a child for his bright future, we absolutely need exclusive places, people & efforts to make beyond-academic reading, which is an imminent part of holistic development, and is truly significant in personality development.
And above all, India is a developing nation with parents dreaming developed nation as future for their children. Around the globe all the developed nations boast strong library existence and reading culture. And this is no exceptional but a fundamental society element for which they are already paying through our taxes aand school fees. Why should any parent pay extra bucks or time to enable this opportunity skill for their children. We as a team of passionate beliver of reading and library power want to help school deliver all of this to its pupil and create a win-win educational landscape for all stakeholders of education.
The English Tool Box forms the origin of Libtopia. The ETB is a language building program that imparts current and fitting technical English language skills to amplify academic outcomes, their usage for individual expression and cross domain learning, and its careful contemplation through activities to attain the true purpose of education - wisdom. Reading print and fiction book is underrated and untapped trajectory in India, when time and again fiction reading is prescribed by global experts in education, psychology, sociology and practised immensely in developed nations. Reading habits & esp. fiction and print books in children, entire reading culture is slowly dying as there’re no dedicated or exciting program in market to bring our children towards reading and its spectacular benefits of crafting strong individuals and empathetic citizens of society. For various justified reasons parents’ and schools efforts to direct their wards in reading habits are limited and unproductive.
8 out of 10 Indian school Libraries are just dull, defunct corners with monotonous books stacked with no activities happening around kindling reading habits & passion, unless we consider the outworn phenomenon - library period! To cater these personal, parenting, schooling to nations’ reading ratio problem we created Reading Festivals. ETB has helped a century of students to discover their own uniqueness, identify their strengths and weaknesses, which has been contemplated as the superpower of the zillenial, through this new conceptual event of Reading Festivals. The tremendous success and demand for this fest that focuses on kindling back passion and habit of reading non-academic print books had limited events annually, for limited students but increasing percentage of parents and schools were interested in benefiting from it. Ergo, to reach masses & increase regularity for greater impact, we decided to take the Reading Festivals to schools. And Libtopia happened!
